Monthly Events
Every month on Hogwarts School Discord is special! That’s because a new month means the start of a new House Cup, where members participate in all sorts of events in and around the server to earn enough points to let their House stand above the rest. Winning the House Cup brings with it many benefits, including a bonus amount of server currency, the server icon being decked out in their House colors, and a shiny House Cup decored in their House colors posted in their House Common Room!
Of course, we can’t go without celebrating a few things that happen only once a year. Contests are held whenever we approach a holiday or birthday in the Harry Potter world! Our users make collages, poems, stories, and other pieces of artwork to celebrate these special occasions.
Weekly Games & Events
Besides our monthly events, we have multiple recurring weekly events! Every week, we have script-reading, where our users join our voice channels to pose as certain characters, reading their movie lines and having a general blast! We follow up our script reads by listening to the Harry Potter audiobook chapters that relate to the scenes we read. Don't want to be in voice chat? That's fine, because we also have a text-based book club, where we re-read the series and have multiple discussions related to the week's chapters.
Outside of the obvious Harry Potter themed activities, we also have a Question of the Week posted in all of the common rooms every Sunday morning! Members have one week to answer, and earn House Points! For those who like a bit of controvery, we offer two debates each week — a SFW debate open to the entire server, and a NSFW debate open to members who are over the age of 18. Members can also partake in multiple raffles, try their hand at a short writing prompt, or test their knowledge on our various Ordinary Wizarding Level quizzes!
Daily Activities
Don't fancy having to wait for next week or an entire month for something new? No worries, since we've got things to do every day! We have a team called the Quidditch Team, built from volunteers from all around the world who work hard everyday to plan, organize, and host a variety of daily activities to keep our members engaged. These activities and games include Skribble.io, trivia, Guess the HP character, and so much more!
Of course, you can't just spend your entire time on Hogwarts just playing games! Everyone needs a break from all the excitement, and what else than just having a nice chat with a friend? You can always find a new friend whenever you click on to our main channel for conversation, the Great Hall! Find people who share the same interests as you in a certain channel! Like watching anime and reading manga? Go to our anime and manga channel, where you can freak out about your favorite characters together! Want to debate on who's going to win the next game between two teams? Our sports channel!
